My name is Kempton Burton and I am a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student from Southlake, Texas.
I am currently studying for my bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University.
I have a passion for exploration of any kind, including space exploration. I am a very technically involved individual and a lifelong learner. I am passionate about engineering and science, and plan to work in the aerospace industry to help increase humanity's presence in space.
I have been a member of the Texas A&M Sounding Rocketry Team (SRT) for over a year now, and I was a previous member of my high school's rocketry team, Carroll Rockets, where I gained first-hand insight into the world of aerospace engineering. This past summer I interned for the Department of Defense at Whiteman Airforce Base, MO, working on mission-support group projects for the B-2 Spirit. Learn more on my Experience and Projects page.
In addition to being passionate about engineering, I am also passionate about any technical activity that challenges me not only mentally, but physically, such as scuba diving, and backpacking. Learn more on my Personal Interests page.
With experience ranging from testing engineering to mechanical product design, and exposure to uncomfortable situations through my personal interests, I have the mental flexibility and drive to learn and work with any team in a fast-paced environment.
